Does PuppyEscrow.com service have a limit on transaction size?

Yes, there is a standard $5,000 limit. We will consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

How do Sellers cancel transactions?

Before the agreement of terms by both parties, the Buyer OR Seller may cancel the transaction. Once both parties have confirmed transaction details in the Agreement phase, either party may cancel the transaction up until the Buyer delivers the payment to Puppy Escrow. Once the payment is received by Puppy Escrow and verified, the seller is instructed that the payment is received and to send the pet.

The Buyer may decline the transaction during the inspection period after receiving the pet, but the Buyer is still responsible for shipping the pet back to the Seller, and for paying any escrow fees.

How can I change my member information?

Log in to PuppyEscrow.com and click the ‘My Profile' link.

How do I change transaction details and terms?

During the Agreement Phase only, either the Buyer or Seller may change transaction details by logging into PuppyEscrow.com and making changes in the Online Agreement Form. Once both parties have agreed to the details and the agreement phase is finished, they must email their change requests to transactions@puppyescrow.com. Changes after the terms have been agreed to must have the consent of both the Buyer and the Seller.

How do I view the status of my transactions?

You must log in and then you can access your transaction summary page. There you can view the status of all your active PuppyEscrow.com transactions.

Are international sales or purchases allowed?

Yes. PuppyEscrow services are available to countries outside the U.S.A. Payment must be provided in US currency. The use of certain payment types (E-Checks) may be restricted for certain countries and in certain currencies.

How do I receive payment if I live outside of the United States?

Payments by check can be made internationally, but the time for the check to arrive is contingent upon foreign postal services, and may take up to an extra two weeks for delivery. For faster payment, you can select the funds be sent by overnight courier or by international wire transfer.

Are services offered through PuppyEscrow.com safe?

Yes. You and your transaction are protected through every step of the process, PuppyEscrow.com has a vigorous procedures that insures all transactions are LOGGED, TRACKED, VERIFIED and RECORDED.

Can a transaction be cancelled by anyone other than the Buyer or Seller?

Yes. PuppyEscrow.com will review all transactions, and may cancel a transaction if it doesn't meet the requirements to what can be sold through escrow. We may also cancel a transaction if fraud is suspected.

Do the services offered through PuppyEscrow.com favor either the Buyer or the Seller?

No. PuppyEscrow.com is a third party intercessor that assures a safe and secure transaction process for both Buyers and Sellers.

How do Sellers get paid?

PuppyEscrow.com releases funds to the Seller once the inspection period has passed without the Buyer requesting cancellation of the transaction. The inspection period is agreed to by both the Buyer and the Seller and commences once the Buyer has received the pet. In most cases, checks are sent to the Seller, but Sellers can select the wire transfer option to have the money deposited directly into their bank account.

If the Seller specifically requests a wire transfer, it is available, but requires a separate delivery fee. The fee is $20 for domestic wire transfers and overnight delivery, and $40 for international wire transfers.

How does PuppyEscrow.com protect against fraud?

PuppyEscrow.com involves several steps to protect both the Buyer and Seller against fraud:

1) Payments by the Buyer are verified as "secure funds" before the Seller is instructed to ship.

2) Shipments are tracked to ensure the Seller shipped and the Buyer received the pet.

3) If the pet is sick or not the pet agreed upon, it gives the Buyer the chance to return the pet before payment is released to the Seller.

How does PuppyEscrow.com protect me?

With PuppyEscrow.com, each step in your transaction is verified with proven tracking and verification procedures.

How Sellers are protected:

-The Seller does not have to worry about cheque scams, which cost US breeders thousands each year.
-PuppyEscrow.com verifies delivery of the pet to the Buyer.
-The Seller is notified to ship after PuppyEscrow.com verifies good funds.
-The Seller is provided an electronic record of the agreement with the Buyer

How is PuppyEscrow.com different than PayPal?

PayPal is a person-to-person payment service: it does not offer the same types of protections, or the same level of protection from fraud against either the buyers or sellers. Paypal's maximum protection amount is $1000 dollars (only for items bought on E-Bay) . Pets are not sold on E-Bay.

PuppyEscrow is a unique service that specializes in online/long distance pet purchases. Our maximum amount of protection is $5000 dollars and we offer expanded services to insure your satisfaction.

How long does it take for Sellers to be paid?

When the Buyer accepts the pet, the Seller will be paid. PuppyEscrow.com will pay out the funds to Seller in the method selected at agreement of the transaction.

Funds are paid out within 1-2 business days of the close of the transaction. Wire Transfers and checks sent by express delivery are sent within 1 business day and checks sent by the United States Postal Service are dependent on where the check is sent (domestic versus international).

How long does the Buyer have to inspect the pet?

When the Buyer and Seller agree to terms, the “inspection period” is the time the Buyer has to inspect the pet. If the inspection period has expired, PuppyEscrow.com assumes that the Buyer has approved the pet, and the Seller is paid.

The Pet may only be rejected for the following reasons; Major description descripences, serious health problems or dies without fault of Buyer. Any of these rejection reason must be verified in writing by a licensed veterinarian.

How long does the escrow process take?

Three factors influence the amount of time the escrow process takes:

1) The inspection period agreed upon by both parties
2) The method of shipment
3) The method of payment selected. For example, wire transfer payments are secured fastest, whereas a check from the Buyer can take several days in order to allow time for the mail and fund verification by the Buyer's bank. Most escrow purchases can take from 5 to 14 days.

How much does it cost to use PuppyEscrow.com services?

The fee is calculated on the purchase price and the service level chosen (Standard or Preferred). To determine the exact fee for your transaction, use our escrow fee calculator .

How quickly are payments processed?

Checks: Checks are processed the following business day from time the buyer verifies a completed transaction or the day after the inspection period ends which ever occurs first. Check arrival depends on the payment shipment option that is chosen by the seller.

Wire Transfers: It depends upon your financial institution; some require a few hours or even a few days before they can wire funds. We process wire transfers each business day.

I have registered for an account. Now what do I do?

Once you have registered, you can start a transaction immediately. Select Start Transaction after you have signed in to PuppyEscrow.com.

If the Buyer returns a pet, who pays for shipping?

During the agreement process it can be determined who will cover the costs of shipping the pet. As specified in the escrow terms, if the Buyer rejects the pet, they pay for return shipping fees. If the Buyer agreed to pay for the intial shipping, then they would be responsible for shipping both ways.

Is sending my personal information over the Internet safe?

Yes. We use a secured 128 bit encrypted socket connection to protect your information. All information is confidential and completely safe.

What if the Buyer does not like pet?

The Buyer has the inspection period (a length of time agreed to by both parties) to approve of the pet. If the Buyer is dissatisfied***, the Buyer is responsible to return the pet to the Seller. Once the Seller has received the pet and confirmed that it is in the same condition as it was when shipped, PuppyEscrow.com will release the funds back to the Buyer. In any case, on return, return shipping fees, and original shipping fee if the Buyer agreed to pay them. The escrow fee and any original shipping fees will be taken out of the original payment made to PuppyEscrow.com. The Seller will then be reimbursed for their shipping costs, if the Buyer agreed to pay shipping in the agreement.

***Legitimate reasons to return a pet would only include serious health issues or an inaccurate description of the pet in the agreement process. The health issues or major description discrepancies must be documented by a licensed Veterinarian and copies be sent to Puppy Escrow and the Seller.

What if the Buyer does not pay?

The Buyer's funds are secured by PuppyEscrow.com before you ship your pet. This eliminates the concern of non-payment.

What if the Buyer forgets to accept or decline the items online at PuppyEscrow.com?

PuppyEscrow.com will release funds automatically to the Seller at the end of the inspection period, as long as the Buyer has not declined the pet.

What if the Buyer refuses to receive the shipped pet?

Buyers who deny the shipment will be responsible for paying all shipping fees. The Buyer's funds will be returned after the Seller's shipping costs and the escrow fees have been deducted. The Seller will then be reimbursed for their shipping costs.

What if there is a disagreement during the transaction? What is dispute resolution?

If the Buyer and Seller cannot resolve their disagreement within 60 days and the problem is not outlined in the escrow agreement, the issue is sent to dispute resolution. The arbitration process administered by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with the provisions of its Commercial Arbitration Rules.

What is an inspection period?

The inspection period is the amount of time agreed to by both parties in which the Buyer may examine their new pet. The amount of time selected can be from 48 hours to 30 days. The inspection period begins when PuppyEscrow.com confirms the shipment has been received, and the Buyer must accept or reject the pet within this period. When the Buyer rejects the pet, the Seller has 2 days to examine the pet after it is returned.

Buyers and Sellers should make sure the inspection period provides adequate time for any authentication veterinarian checks that may be necessary to complete the transaction.

When does the Seller ship the items?

The Seller is notified by PuppyEscrow.com to ship the pet once we verify the payment from the Buyer is secured in the escrow account.

When should I use PuppyEscrow.com?

Typically customers use PuppyEscrow.com when they are unfamiliar with the individuals or companies they are dealing with. The services that PuppyEscrow.com provides guarantee protection for both the buyer and sellers. The service ensures that the buyer receives the pet that is being paid for and ensures the seller that they are receiving the moneys rendered for their pet being sold.

Who is responsible for paying the escrow fees to PuppyEscrow.com?

During the Agreement Phase of the transaction, the Buyer and Seller will decide who will pay the escrow fees. Either the Buyer or the Seller can pay the fees, or each can pay half of the escrow fees. If the Buyer Rejects or Cancels the transaction, the Buyer is responsible for the escrow fees and any shipping fees. The escrow fee and any original shipping fees will be taken out of the original payment made to PuppyEscrow.com.

Who is responsible for taxes, customs, and import fees?

Taxes, customs and import fees are normally the responsibility of the Seller, but the Seller is at liberty to negotiate any additional costs as part of the purchase price.

Who pays for shipping?

The Buyer and Seller agree who's paying for shipping, but the Seller will initially pay at the time of shipment (Once the buyers money is placed in an escrow account).

If the Buyer is responsible for the shipping charges, the shipping amount is specified by the Seller and added to the total purchase price. In this case, the Buyer is responsible for the shipping costs even if they reject the pet.

How do I know if my information is being transmitted securely?

You can look in one of two places: if the URL contains https:// at the start of the address, or if there is a security lock icon at the bottom right corner of your Internet Explorer browser (it's in the bottom left corner for Netscape Navigator). In either case, this is an indication to you that any information you type in the browser is transmitted with 128-bit encryption. This is the highest level of encryption available in browsers without a special plug-in; 128-bit encryption is the standard used by many financial institutions for online banking.

What browsers and operating systems do you support?

We support browsers that have a valid digital certificate that allows 128-bit encryption. Netscape Navigator 4.08 to 4.78, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 and above, and AOL 4.0 and above. Operating systems supported include Microsoft Windows 95/98/2000/Me/NT/XP and MacOS 7.1 or higher. Other browsers may work but are not specifically supported by PuppyEscrow.com.

What currencies does PuppyEscrow.com support?

What is priority and weekend email support?

Weekend email support means emails are answered on weekends and on some holidays. Priority and weekend email support is available only for “Preferred Service” transactions. To utilize our priority and weekend email support requests, you must submit your support request through our online support form.

What is the verification of funds?

When you make a purchase with a check, wire transfer or money order you are agreeing that money is available in your account. Typically the store or vendor does not receive the funds for another 3 to 7 days. Sending a check to PuppyEscrow.com works the same way. PuppyEscrow.com waits until the money is deposited into the trust account, which is then considered "secured funds." This process takes longer, but provides Buyers and Sellers an extra level of security.

What requirements are needed to use the services provided by PuppyEscrow.com?

The following requirements must be met:
